Arrival and immigration

• Moved into your confirmed accommodation.
• Completed temporary residence registration within 24 hours of moving in.
• Completed the required physical examination or verification.
• Applied for a study residence permit within 30 days of entering China, if applicable.
• Checked the validity of your passport, visa and residence permit application documents.

Registration and campus access

• Completed SJTU on-site registration.
• Activated your jAccount and SJTU email.
• Received or activated your student card.
• Completed any required laboratory safety training.

Banking, insurance and communication

• Obtained and activated a Chinese mobile number.
• Opened a Chinese bank account, where required.
• Set up WeChat Pay or Alipay, where possible.
• Confirmed that your medical insurance is active.
• Submitted your bank account details for scholarship payments, if applicable.
• Joined the TDLI international student communication group.
• Saved the contact details of your supervisor, TDLI staff and relevant SJTU offices.

Academic preparation

• Met with your supervisor and research group.
• Discussed and prepared your individual training plan.
• Completed course enrollment.
• Checked your class timetable and course requirements.
• Attended SJTU and TDLI orientation activities.
• Completed the University rules and regulations examination, where required.

Scholarship students

• Confirmed your scholarship status and conditions.
• Completed any required scholarship registration or in-person check-in.
• Confirmed the expected timing of your first stipend payment.
