All international degree students must obtain the appropriate X student visa before travelling to China and must comply with Chinese immigration laws throughout their studies.
After receiving your electronic SJTU Admission Notice and JW201/JW202 or DQ Form, apply through the Chinese embassy, consulate or visa application center responsible for your place of residence.
Students entering China with an X1 visa should plan their arrival carefully. The visa must still be valid when they complete on-site registration, and they must normally apply for a study residence permit within 30 days of entry.
