LLM-based analysis assistant at BESIII experiment – Dr.Sai

星期四 2025-07-24 11:00 - 12:00 Dr. Li Ke (李科), Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP) Tsung-Dao Lee Institute/N4F-N400 - meeting room

Abstract:

The data processing and analyzing is one of the main challenges at HEP experiments. To accelerate the physics analysis and drive new physics discovery, the rapidly developing Large Language Model (LLM) is the most promising approach, it have demonstrated astonishing capabilities in recognition and generation of text while most parts of physics analysis can be benefitted. In this talk we will discuss the construction of a dedicated intelligent agent, an AI assistant names Dr.Sai at BESIII based on LLM, the potential usage to boost hadron spectroscopy study, and the future plan towards a AI scientist.

Biography:

Dr. Ke Li is an associated researcher at Institute of High Energy Physics (IHEP), currently leading the efforts to integrate cutting-edge machine learning into the BESIII experiment. He is the chair of the IHEP Machine Learning Collaboration Executive Committee which aims to drive interdisciplinary innovation at the intersection of artificial intelligence (AI) and particle physics. With experience in international collaborations—including BESIII, CEPC, ATLAS, and FASER—Dr. Li has pioneered discoveries such as exotic hadron states and collider neutrinos. Currently, his research focuses on AI-driven transformative solutions, aiming to automate the data analysis at HEP experiments through intelligent multi-agents systems.
