Shanghai Jiao Tong University and Fermilab Set New Precision Record in Muon g-2 Experiment
On June 3, 2025, the Muon g-2 international collaboration announced its latest results, achieving an unprecedented precision of 1.27 parts per million. This measurement, based on optimized experimental setups and improved muon beam quality, surpasses the initial goal of 1.4 parts per million. The results, which align with previous findings from 2021 and 2023, provide stringent constraints for future extensions of the Standard Model. The collaboration includes scientists from 34 institutions across 7 countries, with Shanghai Jiao Tong University contributing significantly to the analysis of the muon anomalous magnetic moment and beam dynamics corrections. The experiment's high precision marks a major milestone in particle physics, setting a new benchmark for future research. Read More

Search for Dark Matter Produced in Association with a Dark Higgs Boson in the 𝑏 ¯ 𝑏 Final State Using 𝑝𝑝 Collisions at √𝑠=13 TeV with the ATLAS Detector
A search is performed for dark matter particles produced in association with a resonantly produced pair of 𝑏-quarks with 30<𝑚𝑏𝑏<150 GeV using 140 fb−1 of proton-proton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV recorded by the ATLAS detector at the LHC. This signature is expected in extensions of the standard model predicting the production of dark matter particles, in particular those containing a dark Higgs boson 𝑠 that decays into 𝑏 ¯ 𝑏 . The highly boosted 𝑠 →𝑏 ¯ 𝑏 topology is reconstructed using jet reclustering and a new identification algorithm. This search places stringent constraints across regions of the dark Higgs model parameter space that satisfy the observed relic density, excluding dark Higgs bosons with masses between 30 and 150 GeV in benchmark scenarios with 𝑍′ mediator masses up to 4.8 TeV at 95% confidence level.
