Muon Sources and Potential Muon Experiments at HIAF and CiADS Facilities

Abstract

Particle physics experiments based on muon sources are a crucial aspect of the intensity frontier, complementing the energy frontier represented by the LHC in the search for new physics. Meanwhile, muon source has extensive multidisciplinary applications, playing a significant role in interdisciplinary fields such as condensed matter physics, energy materials, and chemistry. Therefore, muon source experimental platforms are key facilities deployed at accelerator facilities. In recent years, the construction of domestic accelerators has progressed rapidly. Since 2008, China has successively approved the construction of high-power proton/heavy-ion/electron accelerators such as the China Spallation Neutron Source (CSNS), the High-Intensity heavy-ion Accelerator Facility (HIAF), the China Accelerator-Driven Subcritical System (CiADS), and Shanghai High repetition rate XFEL and Extreme Light facility (SHINE). The development of these high-intensity proton/heavy-ion/electron accelerator facilities has created opportunities and laid a crucial foundation for muon induced experimental researches in China. In this talk, I will briefly introduce the status of muon sources at HIAF and CiADS, and potential muon experiments.

 

Biography

陈良文,中国科学院近代物理研究所副研究员,2009年于中国科学技术大学获物理学学士学位,2017年于中国科学技术大学获得核与粒子物理学博士学位,2017年至2020年期间在中科院近代物理研究所从事博士后研究工作。2017年获博士后创新人才支持计划资助。2020年至今在中国科学院近代物理研究所工作。近年来主要从事缪子物理和应用方面的研究,在相关领域以第一作者或通讯作者发表文章10余篇,主持和参与多项国家自然科学基金和科技部重点研发计划等项目。
