We develop and utilize cutting-edge optical techniques, including the linear and nonlinear responses from the terahertz to visible spectrum, to study and control the functionality of materials with electron correlations and novel quasiparticle excitations. Current topics include detecting the Higgs mode in unconventional superconductors, maintaining material functionality through Floquet protocols, and mode-selective pumping.
