Abstract:
We present some results about the the photon sphere, black hole shadows and light deflection in classes of asymptotically flat, static, spherically symmetric, dyonic extremal black holes whichcan be embedded into the simplest models of (ungauged) N = 2 Maxwell-Einstein
supergravity in four space-time dimensions. Namely, besides the N = 2 “pure” fourdimensional supergravity and the corresponding extremal Reissner-Nordström (BPS) black hole solution, we consider extremal BPS black holes in the two models of N = 2 supergravity coupled to one complex scalar coordinatizing a symmetric scalar coset :the so-called CP1 model (i.e., the axion-dilaton model in the Fubini-Study symplectic frame) and the so-called T3 model (corresponding to the Kaluza-Klein reduction of fivedimensional minimal “pure” supergravity). These two models are characterized by a global electric-magnetic (U-)duality Lie group “of type E7”, which is degenerate in the CP1 model, and non-degenerate in the T3 model. By using Boyer-Lindquist coordinates and defining the effective potential governing the dynamics of null geodesics in the black hole background, among other results, we highlight the relevance of the polynomial U-duality-invariants, as well as of the Freudenthal duality non-linear map (for nondegenerate U-duality), on the physically relevant quantities.
At the end of the talk we will suscintly talk about the research activities at the Particle Theory group University of Murcia, SPAIN.
