2024 Astro winter camp

TUE 2024-01-23 10:00 - 2024-01-25 18:00 TDLI

TDLI was founded in November 2016, with Prof. Tsung Dao Lee (Nobel Prize in Physics 1957) as the Honorary Director and Prof. Frank Wilczek (Nobel Prize in Physics 2004) as the Founding Director (and the current Chief Scientist). The Current Director is Prof. Jie Zhang, a prominent physicist and the former President of Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU). TDLI supports research in high energy physics, astrophysics and quantum physics, and aims to become a top-notch physics and astronomy research institute in the world.

This winter camp mainly aims at training Chinese undergraduate students for future research on astrophysics and astronomy in general. It will also provide a platform for TDLI faculty to introduce their research to future PhD candidates. There will be lecture, hands-on, and activity sessions each day. In this camp, the students will not only know the cutting-edge research of TDLI fellows but also learn the essential tools to conduct such research.

Here, you will have an intuitive and in-depth understanding of the T.D. Lee Institute, feel the diverse scholarly styles and cutting-edge research fields, and gain practical experience in projects related to lectures. Students participating in the offline conference will also have the opportunity to show the results of small projects and get rewards!

This winter camp will be mainly in English and is open for 3rd year undergrad students. The local accomodation and meals will be covered by TDLI. If you are applying for attendence, please send the following documents to Ms. Duan (leeastronomy@sjtu.edu.cn) with the email title "2024 astro winter camp".
